    Single-Screw Extruder Gearbox

    Industrial gear units used in single-screw extruder for rubber and plastic processing

    • Optimized Design for Better Performance
      Through continuous improvements in parameters such as gear module, helix and pressure angles, and tooth width, the TEX series gearboxes achieve higher efficiency and smoother power transmission. The parallel-shaft structure allows them to handle higher input speeds and torque while keeping operation stable and quiet, even in demanding extrusion environments.
    • Flexible Solutions for Different Extrusion Needs
      The series includes both two-stage and three-stage designs to meet different production needs. The two-stage models offer ratios up to 25:1, while the three-stage versions extend the range from 6.3:1 to 100:1. For compact extruder setups that require a U-shaped layout, the TEX-P3 gearbox, with a wider center distance between the input and output shafts, can replace the TEX-P2 to prevent interference between the motor and barrel while maintaining efficient performance and smooth operation.

    Structure Overview
    • Casing
      Made from high-quality materials such as grey cast iron (FC250), ductile cast iron (FCD450), or steel, ensuring strength and durability for long-term use.
    • Gears
      The gears feature a helical design and are made from 20NiCrMo or 18NiCrMo7 alloy steel. They are manufactured to meet DIN 6 or higher precision standards, minimizing noise and improving transmission efficiency.
    • Thrust Bearings
      294. E-type thrust bearings are used to support the axial load generated by the extruder screw, ensuring smooth and stable operation even under high pressure.
    • Extruder Screw Connection
      The gearbox connection to the extruder screw can be customized according to client requirements. Options include standard single keyways, 180° double keyways, or splined shafts following UNI, ISO, or DIN standards, offering flexibility for different screw and barrel configurations.

    These gearboxes can be set up in different ways depending on the layout of the extruder. They’re compatible with both vertical and horizontal setups and can be arranged in Z-type or U-type designs. The motor can be placed on the top or bottom, and in some systems, the screw can even be removed from the back for easier cleaning or maintenance.
